This is my first book from Ashley and is the third book in the series which you can definitely read this as a standalone. But I just have to say that this will totally be my favorite of all of I were to read the previous books.I’m absolutely in love with this! It has my absolutely favorite trope! Friends to Lovers! And since childhood! Squeal~
I can’t tell you how much in love I am with this story and how well it’s written and put together. It’s just the sweetest and much anticipated romance between the two best friends. Like every! My I was on the edge of my seat just waiting for the next searing kiss that will explode between them and just don’t want it to stop. I definitely love that they didn’t just jump I to bed together because of their attraction but actually had rational and intellectual reasons of the pros and cons of how it’ll change and affect their friendship.
This means both characters I absolutely love and have nothing against. It’s definitely difficult to have me love both characters in a story but in this, I’m definitely glad I love both of them because this might as well be one of my favorite friends to lovers stories.
My oh my, Logan is one smart sexy man. I love how rational he is in pondering his attraction towards his best friend and how awestruck he becomes by it. Like when did he start having those naughty thoughts about his own best friend? That’s just not possible. LOL It was definitely sweet and charming and so cute just seeing him struggle with his pants. I absolutely love that we got mainly his POV because he’s the one feeling and bring on the seduction to the for front so that’s a hit.
Gabbie is just hilarious and very naive in her or Logan’s attraction to her. I love that she’s curvy and sexy in her own skin but that she also has insecurities of her own beauty and attraction to other men. But she’s been through a lot and has boundaries she can’t share or keeps to herself of the fear of rejection and pity.
I just love these two together and they definitely are the epitome of what best friends are if one were to have a guy or gal friend. They can talk about pretty much anything and everything, even down to sex and what it means to a woman or man in a relationship. They know what they want and it’s nice to have that other person know who you are too.
But as for these two somehow they both have to see where things will take them if they leapt at the attraction and deal with future opportunities that are given to them, like dealing with broken friendship if things didn’t work out, the trouble of long distance, the understanding of letting one go and living without the other. Just things everyone go through of loosing a friend to a new job opportunity in a new city or state and not seeing them as often as you would like anymore. Or just loosing a good friend over one small misstep. But I love that these two worked at it and saw what they were missing and going to lose.
This definitely will be one of my favorite friends to lovers stories and I might just have to find a print version to cherish on my shelf.
With lost of laughs, sweet Lord steamy moments of hotness that we should never have towards or best friends, but will definitely love, I absolutely recommend this short read.

I have to start by saying I got this from Net Galley and that I haven't read any of the previous books in this series. The reason I requested it was mainly because of the cover. I like action/military/romance-type books. That said, this wasn't that. Yes, it was romance, and yes, I'm still caught up thinking about the story, after finishing it- but, this was basically a contemporary romance with a lot of angst about, "I don't want to express my new feelings and ruin a life-long friendship that means the world to me" story.
Gabby and Logan have been best friends since grade school, and have just recently started to look at each other with interest, but are afraid of expressing it to protect their friendship. Just as Logan is about to move to NYC they decide to act on their feelings and of course you know the typical outcome. Logan is very alpha, and Gabby is a very strong woman, and they both have their vulnerabilities- which I love. There's very little details to the sub-characters, except one couple and I can guess how that book will typically go too. If you're reading this series, maybe these two finally realizing their feelings is good and right, within that context. It was well written and like I said I came away with an 'a-h-h-h-h-h' feeling but it didn't make me want to read more in the series. Sorry.
PS- there is 'pistol whipping' but it's not to either of them, and it's a very minor plot addition later in the story. The first of the two times the gun is used in the story, Gabby totally forgets the gun in the car, in her rush to find her phone- that's how un-military/adventure this story is. Just sayin'........

Very sweet love story between two best friends. I loved the characters and their relationship. This story is sexy without tons of overly explicit love scenes. I definitely recommend this book!
I was provided a copy of "Pistol Whipped" in exchange for an honest review. This is the third book in the "Girls with Guns" series; however, it can be read as a standalone novel. (Albeit, now I am hooked and I will go back and obtain the rest of the series.) "Pistol Whipped" is a full length contemporary romance novel that is set forth within the town of Windsor, Colorado.The story easily draws the reader into the activity and the lives of the characters. The childhood friendship that has existed between Logan and Gabriella develops into a passionate romance. After the two share a room during a business trip and can no longer deny the explosive chemistry that they share, they return home to find that it may not be enough to keep them together. As the relationship evolves, additional characters and elements of the surrounding community are also developed. Ms. Bostock successfully weaves a good combination of plot thickening and red-hot, panty-melting romance scenes. Will Logan give up his opportunity at a high dollar New York law firm? Will Gabriella overcome her fears? "Pistol Whipped" leaves the reader satisfied with no cliffhangers, yet awaiting the next installment of what will happen next in the town of Windsor. I, for one, eagerly await Blaze's story! I gave the book a 4 out of 5 stars as I believe there are some minor flow issues. However, the story is addictive! I want more and this, ultimately, is my test of a great story...I crave that next installment. It's refreshing to read a combination of sensual, erotic and steamy romance with a well thought out plot for a new series. Ashley Bostock has now been added to my list of contemporary romance authors.
